New Delhi:  In a landmark achievement, Marwah Studios, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, has attracted a footfall of three million visitors from 156 countries, establishing itself as a global hub for film and cultural tourism. This milestone was highlighted by Dr. Marwah while talking to the press at the Tourism and Hospitality Summit organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.

Speaking at the summit, Dr. Marwah reflected on the journey of Marwah Studios and the introduction of the concept of “Film and Cultural Tourism” over three decades ago. “Thirty-three years back, we introduced a term to the English dictionary—Film and Cultural Tourism. Nobody knew about it then, but today the whole world is talking about it,” said Dr. Marwah. He emphasized the studio’s role in promoting cultural exchange and tourism through the medium of film, which has drawn millions of visitors to Marwah Studios.

The Tourism and Hospitality Summit, organized by IACC’s Tourism and Hospitality Committee, aims to create a platform that recognizes the efforts of industry stakeholders in facilitating travel and tourism within India and internationally. The summit was attended by prominent figures from the tourism industry, including former IACC President Lalit Bhasin, Regional President Arun Karna, Rajesh Magow of MMT, Jonathan M. Heimer, Minister Counsellor for Commercial Affairs at the US Embassy, Suman Billa, Additional Secretary for Tourism, Sherma Vohra from Sartha Marketing, and Harvinder Singh, Director at United Airlines.

During the summit, several individuals were honored with tourism awards for their outstanding contributions to the industry.

AAFT Quarterly Journal Launched at 9th Annual Writers Meet 2024

 

Noida:– The 9th Annual Writers Meet 2024 at Marwah Studios, Noida Film City, was the stage for the highly anticipated release of the latest edition of the AAFT Quarterly Journal. This prestigious event was organized by the Writers Association of India (WAI) and the Asian Academy of Arts (AAA), both integral parts of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI). The gathering attracted prominent writers and literary figures from across India and abroad, adding to the journal’s already significant reputation.

The AAFT Quarterly Journal is a collaborative effort spearheaded by the AAFT Department of Research, under the aegis of the International Film and Television Research Centre (IFTRC). As the first film and television research center in the country, IFTRC has been a pioneer in conducting in-depth research across various facets of the media industry, including film and TV production, training, consumer behavior, and publication trends. The department is known for its robust activities, which include regular workshops, seminars, interactive programs, and symposiums, contributing significantly to the advancement of media studies in India.

This journal represents the ongoing commitment of AAFT to academic and professional excellence, providing a platform for faculty members, students, and industry professionals to share their insights, research findings, and experiences. It continues to be a valuable resource for those involved in media education and practice, reflecting the latest trends and innovations in the field.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah has dedicated over three decades to promoting peace and unity through his extensive work in art and culture. His illustrious career includes: Participation in 7,500 events and production of 3,500 short films, Welcoming three million people from 156 countries under cultural tourism, Educating 30,000 students from 145 countries, Chairing cultural forums in 75 countries worldwide.

One of his notable achievements includes uniting India through the Commonwealth Queen’s Baton Relay, covering 28 states and 5 union territories. This initiative included 300 events, visits to 900 cities, and traveling 20,000 kilometers to produce 1,000 hours of filmmaking, 10,000 photographs, 102 radio programs, and 102 short films in 102 days.

The award ceremony took place at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat in Delhi, attended by prominent figures from Delhi NCR. Shaminm A. Khan, a renowned social worker and president of the society, remarked, “Sandeep Marwah is the living legend of our country. I have never seen anyone who has done so much work in art and culture in the world.”

New Delhi, India:  In a remarkable initiative aimed at fostering international educational collaboration, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo Cyprus Film and Cultural Forum, presented a prestigious scholarship to the High Commissioner of Cyprus to India.
